Spend a day with the enneagram, led by Simon Parke, on Saturday 21 February 2009 at St Marylebone Church, London W1. Contact Simon for more details.

The enneagram is a mysterious but wonderfully insightful tool for self-understanding. Traditionally, it is believed to be the offspring of Sufi wisdom, held for centuries by the Sarmoun brotherhood, but came to the West through the differing work of Gurdjieff and Ichazo.

The enneagram offers an objective view of reality. It is verifiable and clear to any who investigate. I have been a student and teacher of it for over 20 years, both in groups and one-to-one. Its clarity and depth never fails to amaze those who step through its door.

The enneagram offers nine faces of the human soul. It suggests that each of us along the way has adopted one of these faces, which comprises our personality. It seeks then to take us beyond this conditioned and separate self, to a bigger beyond. This is both a psychological and spiritual work.

The enneagram is a bit like a code – only slowly cracked. It is a bit like the ocean – shallow enough for a child to paddle; deep enough for large liner.

If you would like to know more about the enneagram, please click here for an introduction, or read about my recent-published book,
The Enneagram: A Private Session with the World's Greatest Psychologist. Or if you would like to talk more about an enneagram course or retreat, then don't hesitate to make contact. Alternatively, you may simply wish to read more and reflect on it. I would be happy to send some simple material, or recommend books.
