How to use the meditations
1. Find a quiet place where you will not be disturbed.
2. Read through the whole meditation a few times, then put it down.
3. Sit in a position both comfortable and alert.
4. Allow the meditation 10 minutes or so in your imagination. Do not give up before this time; stay with it.
5. Allow another 10 minutes for recording what happened. Allow events to develop as you record. |

MEDITATION 38
MORE FUEL, MORE FUEL!
I remember an old Western. The train was steaming across the desert, being chased by Indians. The trouble was, they were running out of wood to fuel the train; normal stocks had been used up.
"We're done for!" said the boy.
"No we're not," said the driver.
"But we've no more wood!"
"We have plenty of wood. Get down to those carriages!"
They just needed wood from new places, so the boy went to the carriages, smashed up tables and chairs, and took them back to the front.
"I told you we had wood!" said the driver, filling the fire, and feeling the power.
Consider
Sometimes our normal supplies run out.
But instead of despairing, we can call for fresh supplies, from unlikely places.
If your resources feel low, it could be an illusion.
Imagine
Imagine your body as a train.
You're running out of your usual fuel. Perhaps you always deal with things one way; and that way isn't working.
So you call on other resources; perhaps never called on before.
You have a head, a heart and a gut. Are they all working for you? Seek out every sinew and joint in your body; rifle through the corridors of your veins and nerves; call your breathing to task; demand that everyone and everything respond; let no one be too tired or unimportant!
You're like a train needing new fuel.
And it's there.
