How to use the meditations
1. Find a quiet place where you will not be disturbed.
2. Read through the whole meditation a few times, then put it down.
3. Sit in a position both comfortable and alert.
4. Allow the meditation 10 minutes or so in your imagination. Do not give up before this time; stay with it.
5. Allow another 10 minutes for recording what happened. Allow events to develop as you record. |

MEDITATION 12
POINTS OF THE COMPASS
This is for those who wish the world well.
It is sometimes called the meditation of universal benevolence.
Don't worry too much about the exact geography.
Meditate
Stand or sit and face north.
Think with love and tenderness toward all who you know who live north of you.
Enter into their joys and sorrows as you are able, and let the hand of your affection and blessing rest upon their heads.
Then think of those unknown by you, who live to the north, and exercise love and compassion towards them.
Then turn to the East, South and West and do likewise allowing both individuals and nations call on your pity and compassion.
Finally, ask God's blessing on all North, South, East and West and be on your way.
You have blessed all and now you will meet some.
