the one minute mystic
How to use the meditations

1. Find a quiet place where you will not be disturbed.

2. Read through the whole meditation a few times, then put it down.

3. Sit in a position both comfortable and alert.

4. Allow the meditation 10 minutes or so in your imagination. Do not give up before this time; stay with it.

5. Allow another 10 minutes for recording what happened. Allow events to develop as you record.
  MEDITATION 11
STILL WATER

"I want to see the glory!" said the seeker.

"Then be still," said the teacher. "Stand by the water and you shall see the glory." And with that the teacher left.

The seeker stood by the water, but due to recent rain, it was too muddy to see anything, and so he waded in to see if he could find the glory there. Perhaps that's what the teacher meant – a call to action!

The teacher returned. "What are you doing? I told you to stand by the water, but you are wading in it. I say again. Be still – stand by the water, and you will see the glory." With that said, the teacher again went away.

So the seeker stood by the muddy water, recently disturbed by both rain and him self – but still there was no glory. He felt stupid standing still. The teacher must be testing him, and he was determined he wouldn't let her down. He would go searching again! He wouldn't give up! He so he waded into the water again.

Just then, the teacher returned. "What are you doing?" she asked. "I told you to stand by the water, but you are wading in it. I say again, be still: stand still by the water, and you will see the glory." And then she went away.

So this time, the seeker stood by the water – and stayed still. And as he stood, the water itself became still, and the mud slowly sank. Undisturbed, the muddy water became clear water – water like a mirror. A mirror reflecting the sunset; and then, even more wonderfully, a mirror reflecting him self.

"Behold the glory," said the teacher.

Imagine

You are standing by the water.

How do you feel about the teacher's words to be still?

What forces do you feel inside you?

What happens as you wait?

And the outcome?
