the one minute mystic
How to use the meditations

1. Find a quiet place where you will not be disturbed.

2. Read through the whole meditation a few times, then put it down.

3. Sit in a position both comfortable and alert.

4. Allow the meditation 10 minutes or so in your imagination. Do not give up before this time; stay with it.

5. Allow another 10 minutes for recording what happened. Allow events to develop as you record.
  MEDITATION 8
RIDERS ON WILD HORSES

We are like riders on wild horses which rear, and plunge and swerve.

We have no idea why they behave in this way.

"I don't know what came over me!" we say, and spend all our energy just trying to stay in the saddle.

The horse is our inner life – but we tend to ignore it, with unfortunate consequences.

"I suppose it has to be this way," we say.

But like a neglected child, the neglected horse takes hideous revenge.

"Maybe they will settle soon," we say, clinging on, somewhat desperately. "We must keep up appearances."

Imagine

You are riding a horse.

What sort of a horse?

How is it behaving?

And why does it behave in this way?

Do you beat it with a stick?

Or do you acknowledge it and befriend it.

You see some getting off their horses and speaking with them.

What do you do?

There is the thought that together, you could travel beautifully.
