How to use the meditations
1. Find a quiet place where you will not be disturbed.
2. Read through the whole meditation a few times, then put it down.
3. Sit in a position both comfortable and alert.
4. Allow the meditation 10 minutes or so in your imagination. Do not give up before this time; stay with it.
5. Allow another 10 minutes for recording what happened. Allow events to develop as you record. |

MEDITATION 5
HOW WE ARE TODAY
We first consider our bodies.
How do you feel about your body today?
Starting with your feet, you slowly move up your body, considering each part. Where do you feel well? Where do you feel unwell? Where do you feel nothing?
You sit with your body and accept your body's feelings. This may not be how you are tomorrow, but they are part of how you are today.
We consider our relationships.
To whom do you feel close today? Who do you feel distant towards? Who is giving you most worry at the moment? Which relationship is most unresolved? And which gives you the most pleasure?
You sit with your relationships and accept the way they are. They may not be how things are tomorrow, but they are part of you today.
We consider the spirit inside us today.
How did you feel on waking?
Do you feel happy about anything today? Do you feel angry about anything today? Do you feel sad, hopeful, bitter, excited, fearful or worried about anything today?
You sit with the various spirits you carry inside you, and accept yourself for how you are. These may not be your spirits tomorrow; but it is how you are today.
And how others are today, is not how they will always be but it is how they are today.
