EPISODE 3
THE CHILD AND THE CLOWN
As the crowd filters out of the Big Top and the big band plays, the child is asked what he most enjoyed about the circus.
"I liked it all!" he says, inching forward in the hot dog queue. Why is this stupid person asking him questions? Can't they see he is busy?
"And what do you remember the most?"
"Well," says the child, who can see this stupid person isn't going away, worse luck. "I liked the people on the high wire, because it was a bit scary; and I also liked the acrobats on the trapeze. But I liked the clown best of all."
"Ahh! And why did you like the clown?"
"I don't know really. So are you going to leave me alone now?"
"Well, there must be a reason. You must have liked the clown for a reason!"
"Because he made me feel happy sad."
"Can you explain what you mean?"
"Yes. He made me feel sad happy."
